Commissioning Services
Define your Vision. Protect your Investment. Optimize your Performance.
Data Centers
Manage risk and reliability with 5 levels of data center commissioning. The global expansion of cloud computing and artificial intelligence has increased the demand for data centers worldwide. From small edge data centers to hyperscale sites, digital infrastructure developers have the challenge of meeting the rising demand for power and cooling loads while managing energy efficiency and sustainability. JRCx partners with data center developers and facility managers to ensure system operation, redundancy, and energy performance through the 5 Levels of Data Center Commissiong. Level 0 - Critical Cx Planning Level 1 - Factory Acceptance Level 2 - Site Acceptance Level 3 - System Start-up Level 4 - Functional Testing Level 5 - Integrated System Testing This systematic approach will ensure what is designed, is what is delivered. Commissioning makes sure that your facility risks are mitigated early, and down-time is eliminated before it begins. Â Optimizing the performance of digital assets is critical to ensuring our connected world can keep growing and thriving securely.
Health and Life Sciences
Verify critical process environments perform to their quality standards. The world is seeing a continued increase in chronic diseases, epidemics, and aging communities. However, healthcare and life science organizations are developing innovative solutions to solve these problems. JRCx provides expert commissioning support for both Validated and Non-Validated building systems for a variety of healthcare, life science and pharmaceutical manufacturing applications. Commissioning of equipment and systems will ensure all critical environments are designed, tested and operating according to their quality standards before production or occupancy begins. Risks of down-time and loss are eliminated by the systematic verifications throughout the commissioning process. We believe that investing in healthcare and life science facilities is critical to investing in the well-being of our future.
High-Performance Buildings
Realize on-going energy, water, and fuel savings with optimized sequence testing and system trending. As cities continue to adopt green building standards, there is an increased need for project teams to execute complex energy efficient designs. From design, through construction, and all the way to owner acceptance, JRCx leads project teams to achieving their green building, decarbonization, and electrification milestones. With our team of sustainability experts, we have what it takes to turn concepts into realities. We view every green building project as mission critical because we know our planet depends on it.
What is Commissioning?
Commissioning (Cx) is a quality assurance process that ensures a facility is designed, constructed, configured, and performance tested according to the owner's facility objectives. Commissioning begins a project with the end in mind and develops systematic methods of verifying key milestones are met along the way.

The Commissioning Process uniformly coordinates and verifies traditionally separate functions of a construction project to lead the project to a smooth and desired delivery. Such functions as design development, construction implementation, system documentation, equipment start-up, control system programming, air and water balancing, sequence testing and operator training will be managed through the commissioning process with a unified focus of owner satisfaction.
The Commissioning Provider (CxP) can be thought of as a "Technical Owner's Representative". Their key driver is an owner's satisfaction of their built asset. The CxP's role is to collaborate holistically with the design, construction and facility operations teams to lead a project to success by documenting that building systems have been thoroughly vetted to a quality standard and are functioning as intended to ensure critical process operations are ready to begin.

Why Commission Your Building?
Quality Assurance
Verify and document you got the building systems you paid for. Too often, modern design and construction teams are driven by budget, schedule and bottom-line rather than quality and performance. Your investment is too valuable to be viewed as just "another project". Take advantage of the Commissioning Process to keep all parties accountable and unified to deliver a high-performance real estate asset. Test your building systems before your occupants do and make sure your process outputs are in line with what you started this whole journey for.
Energy Efficiency
Commissioning saves energy and reduces your utility bill expenses. Energy studies have proven that both New Construction Commissioning and Existing Building Retro-Commissioning can save between 5-15% of total building energy consumption with an estimated 1-to-3 year simple payback. Key savings opportunities are found in both quantitative and qualitative adjustments. From design review of equipment sizing and modifications of control system parameters to the development of energy training programs for facility operators - commissioning keeps energy management as a top priority. In addition to electricity savings, commissioning can also reduce water use and fuel consumption which is better for your wallet and the planet.
Optimized Performance
Commissioning originated from the rigorous testing of naval ship systems to guarantee robust seaworthiness before a new vessel went into service. In this way, crews were confident that the ship would be operative at peak performance and minimize any future maintenance issues. Similarly, building commissioning is critical to verifying that building systems are effective in reality, not just in theory, before occupancy. This ensures thermal comfort, energy efficiency, critical failure redundancy, and minimal maintenance for your project.
Cost Avoidance
Often forgotten is the value of avoided costs with the commissioning process. However, these benefits are some of the key drivers for ownership teams. Design gaps, scope busts, and lack of cross-trade coordination can result in costly change orders, but commissioning can identify and resolve these items before they affect your budget and schedule. Don't delay occupancy while battling for warranty visits. Methodical testing and trending of building systems verify all equipment was installed and operating as intended before contractors leave the site. Additionally, contractor to ownership hand-off is critical for efficient operations and maintenance. Avoid future facility costs with adequate documentation, warranties, controls strategies, and training.
